Dr. Michael Muhumuza

Senior Lecturer - Performing Arts(Drama & Theatre)

Michael Muhumuza, PhD, is a scholar in Theatre Arts with over 30 years of experience in teaching, practice, and research at the university level. He is also a certified Entrepreneur by UNCTAD. He has a high degree of critical thinking, analysis, and synthesis of ideas, and situations and able to exercise sound judgment. He is self-driven, and dynamic, with the ability to work in teams. He is able to establish and maintain effective relationships with clear and effective communication in culturally diverse and busy environments. He is easily adaptable with a “ready to go” attitude, and client minded, within the scope and terms of delivery. He has a very receptive and accommodating personality, and able to work effectively in multi-cultural, multi religious and politically diverse environments.

He has served in different organisations over the years as follows: Founding Chairman-Mukono Avocado Cooperative Society, Board Member- Central Avocado Cooperative Union, Board Member-Uganda Avocado Cooperative Union, Board Chairperson- Uganda National Entrepreneurship Development Institute (UNEDI); Board Chairperson- Labour College of East Africa, Country Board Chairman- Cultural Legacy Outreach International (CLOI), Board Secretary- Federation of Gospel Artists of Uganda (FGAU), Board Chairman-Federation of Gospel Artists of Uganda (FGAU); Vice Chairperson, Board of Trustees- Back to God Evangelistic Association, Founder and Managing Director -Momo Centre for Talent Development, Patron-DRF 16, Minister for Arts and Entertainment -National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches in Uganda (NFBPC), Executive Director-Uganda Theatre Heritage (UTH), and Member –Public Service Negotiation, and Consultative Council (PSNCC).

He has been in the workers movement for close to twenty years; first as a Shop and grown in ranks to a National Secretary for Education in University Professional and Academic Staff Union (UPASU), and a member-National Workers Planning Committee.
