The Kabale University Academic Calendar provides the official schedule of academic, administrative and institutional activities for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. It serves as an important reference for students, staff and other members of the University community in planning and keeping track of key University activities and deadlines.
The 2026/2027 Academic Year runs for 36 weeks, from 8 August 2026 to 4 June 2027. Semester One runs from 8 August to 18 December 2026, while Semester Two runs from 30 January to 30 May 2027.
Key Academic Dates
Some of the important dates during the 2026/2027 Academic Year include:
- 8 August 2026: Fresh undergraduate and postgraduate students report to the University; orientation for new postgraduate students begins.
- 10–15 August 2026: Orientation Week for fresh students.
- 15 August 2026: Continuing undergraduate students report and postgraduate classes begin.
- 17 August 2026: Lectures for all regular students begin.
- 30 October 2026: 11th Graduation Ceremony as a Public University.
- 27 November–11 December 2026: Semester One regular undergraduate examinations.
- 28 November–13 December 2026: Semester One postgraduate examinations.
- 30 January 2027: Regular and postgraduate students report for Semester Two.
- 1 February 2027: Semester Two lectures for regular students begin.
- 14–28 May 2027: Semester Two regular undergraduate examinations.
- 15–30 May 2027: Semester Two postgraduate examinations.
- 31 May 2027: Central marking begins, together with Internship, Fieldwork, SP, IT and Study Tours.
- 16 July 2027: Internship, Fieldwork, SP, IT, COBERS and Study Tours end.

The detailed Academic Calendar includes schedules for student reporting and orientation, lectures, coursework, undergraduate and postgraduate examinations, examination marking and processing of results, postgraduate activities, in-service teacher sessions, industrial training, COBERS, internship and fieldwork.
It also provides dates for Senate, University Council, Faculty and Institute Boards, University committees, public holidays, academic breaks, graduation and other institutional activities.
