Academic Calendar
The Kabale University Academic Calendar/Almanac for the Academic Year 2026/2027 provides the official schedule of key academic, administrative, governance and institutional activities planned throughout the academic year.
The Academic Year 2026/2027 runs for 36 weeks, from 8 August 2026 to 4 June 2027, with Semester One scheduled from 8 August to 18 December 2026 and Semester Two from 30 January to 30 May 2027.
The Almanac provides important dates and schedules relating to:
- Student reporting, orientation and commencement of lectures
- Undergraduate and postgraduate academic activities
- Coursework, examinations and central examination marking
- Submission, consideration and processing of examination results
- In-service teachers' sessions
- Industrial Training, COBERS, internship, fieldwork and study tours
- Postgraduate research seminars, training and related activities
- Senate, University Council and Faculty/Institute Board meetings
- University committees and other administrative meetings
- Public holidays, academic breaks and University ceremonies
Key Dates at a Glance
8 August 2026: Fresh undergraduate and postgraduate students report; orientation for new postgraduate students begins.
10–15 August 2026: Orientation Week for fresh students.
15 August 2026: Continuing undergraduate students report; postgraduate classes begin.
17 August 2026: Lectures for all regular students begin.
30 October 2026: Kabale University holds its 11th Graduation Ceremony as a Public University.
27 November–11 December 2026: Semester One regular undergraduate examinations. Postgraduate examinations run from 28 November–13 December 2026.
18 December 2026: Semester One concludes and the Christmas Break begins.
30 January 2027: Regular and postgraduate students report for Semester Two.
1 February 2027: Lectures for regular students begin for Semester Two.
14–28 May 2027: Semester Two regular undergraduate examinations. Postgraduate examinations run from 15–30 May 2027.
31 May 2027: Central marking begins, together with the commencement of Internship, Fieldwork, SP, IT and Study Tours.
16 July 2027: Internship, Fieldwork, SP, IT, COBERS and Study Tours end.
