Dr. Charlotte Kabaseke

Lecturer - Law and Jurisprudence

Dr. Charlotte Kabaseke is an advocate of the Courts of Judicature of Uganda. She holds a Ph.D. in law from Wuhan University, a Master of Laws Degree (LLM) from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda, a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Kampala and a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from Uganda Christian University. She is a UN Fellow, having attended the UN International Law Fellowship Programme in June/July 2019. She is also an alumnus of the Hague Academy of International Law, having attended the summer course on Public International Law in July 2019. Currently, Dr. Kabaseke is a Lecturer and the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law, Kabale University. She has previously worked as a Senior Lecturer and Associate Dean of the School of Law of Uganda Christian University as well as Lecturer of Laws at Bishop Stuart University, Mbarara, Uganda where she was later appointed acting Dean of the Faculty of Law. Earlier, she worked as a Legal Assistant (Advocate) at Justice Centres Uganda, a legal aid service provider. Charlotte’s research is focused on the intersectionality between Gender, Human Rights and Environment, Environmental law and policy, Human Rights Law, Gender and the Law, Family Law and Criminal Law.

  • Doctorate in Environment and Natural Resource protection Law, Wuhan University – (Ph.D.) (Wuhan)
  • Master of Laws, Makerere University- LLM (MUK)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice, Law Development – Dip. LP (LDC)
  • Bachelor of Laws Degree, Uganda Christian University – LLB (UCU)
