To the entire community of scholars and researchers in Uganda, East Africa and beyond, we are pleased to announce that Kabale University Research Ethics Committee (KAB-REC) has achieved accreditation by the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST).
Henceforth, the public is welcome to apply to the KAB-REC for an ethical review of research protocols. We are grateful to UNCST for granting the University the Certificate of Accreditation, after a vigorous assessment process, and for training the Committee Members and several University staff in preparation for “take-off”.
I congratulate all the members of the Committee led by the Chairperson, Dr Alex Barekye, and commend them for their willingness to take up this service. We thank the KAB Directorate of Research and Publications (DRP) which spearheaded the accreditation process, under the leadership of Prof. Natal Ayiga.
