Call for Applications Scholarship Opportunities

The Academic Registrar of Kabale University invites applications from interested and needy A-Level leavers for admission under the Kabale University Kigezi Region Scholarship for the Academic Year 2024/2025.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Financial Capability: Applicants must be capable of paying functional fees and catering for personal living expenses, as the scholarship covers only tuition fees.
  2. Residency: Applicants must be Ugandans from one of the six districts of Kigezi (Rubanda, Rukiga, Kisoro, Kanungu, Kabale, and Rukungiri).
  3. Educational Background:
    • Must have attended both O-Level and A-Level studies in schools located in their home districts.
    • Must have passed A-Level with at least two principal passes and O-Level with at least five passes.
    • Must have completed A-Level studies not before the year 2021.
  4. Admissible Programmes: Applicants must be admissible to one of the following bachelor’s degree programmes:
    • Anaesthesia and Critical Care Medicine
    • Medicine and Surgery
    • Nursing Science
    • Civil Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Environmental Science
    • Agriculture
    • Agriculture and Land Use Management
    • Information Technology
    • Computer Science
    • Science with Education
    • Environmental Health Science
    • Agribusiness
    • Industrial Chemistry
    • Biotechnology
    • Industrial and Applied Physics
    • Quantitative Economics
    • Statistics and Data Science
    • Accounting and Finance
  5. Documentation: Applicants must complete a form issued by Kabale University and attach copies of the following documents:
    • O-Level and A-Level result slips
    • School identity card(s)
    • Birth certificate and/or national identity card
  6. Endorsements: Applications must be endorsed by the L.C. I Chairperson, L.C. 3 Chairperson, and the Head Teacher of the applicant’s A-Level school.
  7. Encouragement for Girls: Girls are particularly encouraged to apply.

Application Deadline: Applications should be submitted no later than 30th July 2024.
