Assistant Lecturer - Botany

A dedicated and highly skilled plant scientist with over 15 years of experience in teaching, research, and agricultural development, currently serving as an Assistant Lecturer-Botany at Kabale University in Uganda. I hold a Master’s degree in Botany (Genetics and Molecular Biology) from Makerere University and a Bachelor’s degree in Science with Education from Mbarara University of Science and Technology, and I am currently pursuing a PhD in Plant Breeding and Biotechnology. My expertise spans plant genetics, molecular biology, crop improvement, seed systems, and pest and disease management, complemented by strong capabilities in statistical data analysis (R, Genstat) and project planning. I have extensive experience in both academic instruction and research, with a solid record of scientific contributions, capacity building, and technology dissemination. My goal is to contribute meaningfully to teaching, research, community engagement and innovation in higher education, while continuing to support agricultural transformation and biodiversity management in Uganda and beyond
