Dr. Isaiah Owiunji is currently a Lecturer in Department of  Environmental Sciences in the Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Kabale University in Uganda. He holds a Ph.D. in Planning and Environmental Management of the University of Manchester in England. His study focused on the petroleum development process in the Albertine Graben and the title of the thesis was: “Petroleum Development and Biodiversity Conservation in the Protected Areas of the Albertine Graben in Uganda: Can they Co-exist”. Isaiah holds a Master’s degree in Zoology from Makerere University and Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute (UMI).

He has a certificate in the Lead Environmental Auditor course from the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA), UK. Isaiah has undergone professional training on, Environmental Planning and Management, Biodiversity Conservation, Ecology, Research methods, Natural Resources Management, Renewable Energy, Petroleum Development, Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Strategic Planning, People Management, Resources Mobilisation, Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA), Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), Environmental Auditing (EA) and Mitigation Hierarchy and Teaching in Higher Educational Institutions
