Ahimbisibwe Collins
Collins Ahimbisibwe is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Applied Design and Fine Art, Faculty of Engineering, Technology, Applied Design and Fine Art at Kabale University. He is a Drawing Specialist and Illustrator with professional and academic experience in drawing and illustration, graphic design, and sculpture.
He holds a Master of Art and Industrial Design and a Bachelor of Vocational Studies in Art and Design with Education from Kyambogo University, where he specialized in Graphics, Sculpture, and Drawing. His academic and professional interests particularly focus on drawing and illustration as tools for visual communication, creative problem-solving, design development, cultural documentation, and applied artistic practice.
Before joining academia, Ahimbisibwe worked as a Graphic Designer at LaserJet Uganda Ltd., Kampala, where he gained practical experience in graphic design, visual communication, and laser engraving technologies. He joined Kabale University in May 2018, where he has contributed to teaching, curriculum development, student mentorship, and the advancement of Applied Design and Fine Art.
His areas of teaching and professional interest include drawing and illustration, digital illustration, graphic design, sculpture, visual communication, design development, and creative practice. He is particularly interested in integrating traditional drawing skills with contemporary digital technologies and applied design approaches to equip students with practical, creative, and industry-relevant competencies.
