Traditional Approach Method of Contract Management in Uganda

Abstract

In the traditional approach method of project delivery an Architect/Engineer is hired by the owner to complete the design before construction starts. Contractors under the supervision of the Architect/Engineer as agents of the owner then carry out construction. This paper presents fundamental elements of a contract; forms and terms of a contract, types of contracts encountered in civil engineering works, contract documents, and finally dispute resolution options.
