Technical Report Authors: AT Sanni

Community outreach is one of the community services carried out periodically in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration. It aims at assisting the community in thriving in sustainable development. This is one of the objectives of Kabale University, which is tailored to increase the population’s productivity, inclusiveness and well-being. In a bid to extend psychosocial support to inpatients at various hospitals in the Kigezi region, the department extended the service to St. Francis Hospital Mutolere Hospital Kisoro District. As a department, we follow the line of action to achieve our target goals. Such as providing psychosocial support to both in-patients and out-patients found in the facility; handing over some gifts to the in-patients as a charity; and training on social work before, during and after the Covid-19 pandemic to the students and lecturers by the hospital staff.
