Community Outreach – Psycho-social support to in-Patients

The Department of Social Work and Social Administration, Kabale University, conducted a community outreach activity at Karoli Lwanga Hospital, Nyakibale, Rukungiri District, focusing on psychosocial support for in-patients. The outreach aimed to enhance patients’ emotional wellbeing, provide counselling, and strengthen their coping mechanisms during hospitalization. Through engagement with patients, caregivers, and hospital staff, the team offered supportive interventions that promoted hope, reduced distress, and encouraged social connectedness. This initiative reflects the department’s commitment to community service, academic engagement, and improving the quality of life for vulnerable populations.
