Semester Fees Payment Guidelines & Key Dates, AY2024/25


The Office of the University Bursar welcomes all students back for the second semester of the Academic Year 2024/2025. Kindly take note of the following important guidelines regarding fees payment and registration.

1. Semester Commencement Dates

  • The second semester began on 3rd February 2025 for all continuing students, except:
    • HEC students who started on 13th January 2025
    • Recess students who started on 6th January 2025

2. Enrollment & Registration Deadlines

  • All students must enroll at the beginning of the semester to allow fees billing, payment, and registration.
  • Registration is mandatory within 30 days of semester commencement after paying:
    • 50% for undergraduates (covering both tuition & functional fees)
    • 60% for postgraduates (covering both tuition & functional fees)
  • Registration deadlines:
    • 5th March 2025 – Continuing students
    • 15th February 2025 – HEC students
    • 5th February 2025 – Recess students

Students who fail to register by the deadline will be subject to a late registration charge of UGX 50,000.

3. Full Fees Payment Deadline

All university fees must be fully paid by the end of the 14th week of the semester:

  • 11th May 2025 – Continuing students
  • 20th April 2025 – HEC students
  • 13th April 2025 – Recess students

4. HESFB (Loan Scheme) Students

Students under the Higher Education Students Financing Board (HESFB) Loan Scheme are required to:

  • Submit a fully filled Semester Loan Application (SLA) Form with accurate unpaid fees details to the Quality Assurance Office
  • Submission must be made within 30 days after semester commencement to avoid penalties.

5. Payment Process

All university fees must be paid through the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) after generating a Payment Registration Number (PRN) from your student portal. Payments can be made via:

  • Recognized Commercial Banks
  • Bank Agents
  • Mobile Money Accounts

Students are advised to adhere to these guidelines to ensure a smooth registration process and avoid unnecessary penalties.
