Welcome to the Animal Science Department!
The department of Animal Science offers research, teaching and community engagement services in the areas concerning the biology of Animals under human control. We not only offer a strong background in science but also a hands-on experience working with animals.
We prepare students for career opportunities in areas such as animal breeding, food and fibre production, nutrition, animal agribusiness, animal behaviour and welfare. Our courses include ground students in the disciplines of genetics, microbiology, animal behaviour, nutrition, physiology, and reproduction. We also support areas, such as genetics, soils, agricultural economics and marketing, legal aspects, and the environment.
We offer graduate, undergraduate and diploma courses in the field of Animal science for both professionals and academics.
We have a strong research background and our main areas of research include: Animal health, one health and animal production and productivity.
