Stella Namazzi

Stella Namazzi holds an Msc. (Agriculture and Applied Economics) a B.Sc. (Agriculture) and Post Graduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation. She has over 10 years’ experience in agriculture related work and has worked on projects seeking to contribute to improved food security, incomes, nutrition and health, gender equality, and natural resource base for sustainable livelihoods of resource poor households in Sub – Saharan Africa for the last ten years. She has been involved in research at farm household and market levels including: economic evaluation of technologies and technology adoption, gender studies aimed at eliciting the levels of women empowerment in various crop production systems, Value chain studies including mapping and generating business models that link farmers to markets. She has managed a number of research teams aimed at generating baseline information for projects and has managed impact studies aimed at understanding the impact of agricultural technologies on farmers’ livelihood. She has worked closely with partners across the entire agricultural value chain including researchers, policy makers, farmers, rural communities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), traders, small and medium enterprises and other private sector organizations. In addition, she has extensive exposure in agricultural training, agricultural economics and monitoring and evaluation with skills such as M&E including proposal writing, conducting evaluations including baseline, mid-term and impact evaluations, development of communication materials including blogs, reports, briefs, technical reports and publications. She has advanced skills in digitising questionnaires using Open data Kit software and KOBOCOLLEC. She is a team leader and has ability to work with multidisciplinary team of researchers and possesses strong communication and negotiation skills and research and data analysis using: SPSS, GIS (GPS data mapping and interpretation-Map info) and STATA.
