Ronah Arinanye Tugume is a Senior Administrative support professional experienced at working in fast-paced environments demanding strong organizational, supervisory, team building, technical and interpersonal skills. She has over 15 years of progressive working experience in University Contexts at senior management level. Within these years, she has had chance to work in Academic Registry, human resource management and general management areas. She is a PhD student of Educational Planning and Management at Kyambogo University. She holds an Executive Masters Degree in Business Administration (Human Resource Management and Development option) of Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU), a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management of Uganda Management Institute (UMI), a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Studies of Kyambogo University and a Diploma in Business Administration of Institute of Teachers Education Kyambogo.
She has been the Senior Assistant Academic Registrar in charge of Postgraduate studies since August 2020 at Kabale University. Before joining Kabale University, she worked as an acting University Secretary at Uganda Technology and Management University, a Senior Human Resource Officer and also in charge of the office of the Vice Chancellor of Uganda Technology and Management University and Secretary to the University Council, Â a School Registrar for the School of Business and Management at Uganda Technology and Management University, and a Departmental Registrar for the Departments of Computer Science and Networks at the College of Computing and Information Sciences of Makerere University.
She has also worked as a part time Lecturer of Human Resource Management at Uganda Technology and Management University. She has successfully supervised 2 undergraduate students and 1 Masters’ student to completion.
The Senior Assistant Registrar in charge of Postgraduate efficiently and effectively administers and manages the Directorate of Postgraduate Training in order to achieve its Mission and the University Mission.

Duties and responsibilities;
- Coordinates the development of curriculum for various Postgraduate programmes;
- Coordinates and ensures the implementation of postgraduate programmes;
- Identifies research areas for social and economic problem solving by graduate students;
- Identifies with the Director sources of funds and soliciting for funds to support postgraduate programs and research;
- Is a liaison between the Directorate and Postgraduate Students;
- Liaises with other universities and institutes or organizations and international agencies on matters related to postgraduate studies and research;
- Prepares and produces an annual report on the postgraduate programs of the University;
- Organises and facilitates the conduct of courses and seminars on postgraduate research matters;
- Receiving and compiling all proposals on postgraduate studies, courses from Faculty boards and Boards of Studies, and submitting them to the Senate with recommendations;
- Receives and compiles all applicants for entry into postgraduate courses and submitting them to the Board of Postgraduate Studies for approval;
- Administers grants for research and grants in aid for postgraduate students and their publications from the university;
- Assesses and interprets the equivalent of foreign academic qualifications for use within the postgraduate programmes of the University;
- Appraises the performance of staff under her office and recommends appropriate actions;
- Perform any other official duties assigned by the supervisor(s) from time to time.
