Namara Phiona

Namara Phiona works as Assistant  Librarian  at Kabale University Library Service unit. Phiona is in charge of Administration in the Library: Library security, Library orderliness, general user trainings and attending to user complaints. She has got library working knowledge, skills and experience since 2011 to date where she started as Library Assistant. Phiona is social, cooperative, hardworking, reliable and self driven person. She has grown through the ranks now at the rank of Librarian I which is a managerial position.

Phiona holds a Masters degree in Library and Information Science of Uganda Christian University-Mukono and a Bachelors degree in Library and Information Science of Kabale University. She has skills in computer applications in general with those specific to Library Management Systems including KOHA Library system, D-space and other relevant applications.

She has routinely performed core Library operations including cataloguing and classification of Library materials both manually and electronically. She has spear headed Library collection development both in physical and digital forms. Phiona is particularly interested in developing and maintaining a local digital database comprising downloaded and scanned materials accessible on University intranet.
