Mwesigwa Alex
Dr. Alex Mwesigwa is a biomedical scientist. He holds a PhD in Health Sciences from Makerere University, where he also obtained an MSc in Immunology and Clinical Microbiology and a BSc in Biomedical Laboratory Technology. His research focuses on malaria molecular epidemiology, with particular interest in parasite population genetics, transmission dynamics, and antimalarial drug resistance. His work aims to generate evidence that supports improved malaria surveillance, control, and elimination strategies in endemic settings. He has authored numerous scientific articles published in international peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Mwesigwa also serves as a peer reviewer for several journals, including PLOS ONE, Malaria Journal, Tropical Medicine and Health, and Scientific Reports. In addition to his research, he teaches at Kabale University, lecturing Microbiology and Immunology to undergraduate medical and nursing students.
