Dr. Jack Rugasira

Jack Rugasira is a Lecturer/HOD Procurement and Logistics Management at Kabale University. He has been at Kabale University since October 2022, teaching, mentoring and supervising students in research at both graduate and undergrad levels. He also jointly worked with a team of department members to develop three programs that were recently ratified by UNCHE. They are, Master of Science in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Postgraduate Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management and Diploma in Procurement and Logistics Management. He has also worked as a Lecturer at International University of East Africa, from 2017 to 2020 and developed a number of Graduate programs including Strategic Management, Advanced Production and Operations Management and others. He worked as a Logistics Consultant with Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs and during his tenure, he developed systems that improved the Logistics function to a much-desired state. Developed a robust Central Warehousing System, trained the staff members that are operating it, and trained many more Logisticians for the Ministry. He developed and oversaw the installation of an Electronic Logistics Function Monitoring System which has helped in realizing efficiency in the Logistics function. As an accomplished Management Scientist with an orientation to Green Supply Chain and Operations Management, He has Published a number of papers like, Green sourcing and Environmental Sustainability, Green Manufacturing and Environmental Sustainability, Green Transportation and Environmental Sustainability, Reverse Logistics and Environmental Sustainability and The effect of Computer Technology Adoption on Sales Volumes. Jack Rugasira has done four Management Consultancies which saw two Logistics firms, Western Harvest Ltd and Birya United improve their operations by over 40% efficiency. Two manufacturing firms also had their operations reengineered and efficiency was tremendously improved too. Jack Rugasira also developed a food security value chain for ISP Uganda. His academic and industry interests are, Green/Environmentally consistent Supply Chain and Operations Management, Strategy Development, Electronic Systems Development and Adoption Food Security Value Chain Development and Generally Professional Scientific Management practices.
