Haawa Ruhweza

Assistant Lecturer - Law

Ruhweza Haawa is an Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Law Kabale University.
She holds an LLM in International Business Law and her research for the award was on the “Adequacy of the law on Plant and Animal Biotechnology in EAC”
Her expertise stems from teaching a number of subjects which include but are not limited to Introduction to Law, Constitutional Law, Contract Law, Criminal Law and Criminal Proceedings, Law of Evidence, Family Law, Intellectual Property Law and Land Law.

Her teaching approach is centered around creating an inclusive, student centric learning which encourages students’ curiosity, creativity, and analytical thinking.
Her belief is that learning should be an active and collaborative process, where students should take ownership of their learning and explore tangible applications for the 21 Century.

Bachelor of Laws(LLB) (Hons) UCU

Research Interests

Her research areas are Intellectual property rights, World Trade Organisation and she has co.authored a paper titled “It’s time African Countries utilized the WTO, Dispute Settlement Understanding more to leverage their International Trade Interests.

She is very passionate about Human rights of Children as far as their right to education is concerned.
Her passion is driven by the fact that knowledge is the key to eradicate all the world’s challenges.
