Dr. Mugarura is a Ugandan Orthopaedic and Spine surgeon. He has trained both locally and overseas and holds advanced fellowship training in trauma management and spine surgery.
He currently heads the department of Orthopaedics at Kabale University School of Medicine (KABSOM). During his tenure, several treatment programs have been instituted including surgical treatment of fractures, joint replacements, paediatric orthopaedic surgeries and spine surgery at Kabale Regional Referral hospital. This has not only brought much needed services closer to the people, but also translated into improved patient outcomes in the region.
With experience spanning over 15 years, he is a passionate teacher and mentor who aims to empower the next generation of medical practitioners with knowledge and skills to thrive in the fast paced field of medicine and orthopaedics.
