Kabale University Council Charter

The Kabale University Council Charter outlines the governance framework that guides the operations of the University’s Supreme Governing Organ. As the first Private Chartered University in Uganda to transition to public status, Kabale University’s journey is one of community-driven growth and institutional transformation. This Charter captures the progress of the University from its humble beginnings in 2002 with just 42 students to a thriving public institution with a student population of 6,661 and over 500 staff members as of the 2023/2024 academic year.

Developed by the University Council with support from the University Management, the Charter serves as a vital operational tool to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective decision-making. It provides a foundation for the performance of Council members and guides the University's governance processes.

All stakeholders, especially University Management and Council members, are encouraged to refer to this Charter as a key instrument in upholding good governance and shaping the future of Kabale University.
