Dr. Robert Kakebe Sekajja is an Assistant Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Renewable Energy and over fifteen years of experience in teaching, research, and engineering practice. He earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering (2026) and MSc in Renewable Energy (2014) from Makerere University, Uganda, and holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Automotive and Power Engineering from Kyambogo University (2007). His academic foundation is complemented by earlier studies at Kololo Secondary School (UACE, 2001) and Kasana Senior Secondary School (UCE, 1999).
Dr. Sekajja’s professional expertise spans core engineering sciences, including mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science, alongside applied technologies such as automotive systems, production engineering, and power systems. His research interests focus on renewable energy systems, sustainable bioenergy transitions, and energy policy analysis, with particular emphasis on system dynamics modelling for clean energy pathways in low-income contexts.
An experienced educator, he has taught a wide range of undergraduate engineering courses and supervised student research across multiple institutions. Dr. Sekajja has published in peer-reviewed international journals and actively contributes to interdisciplinary research addressing energy sustainability challenges in Uganda and Sub-Saharan Africa. He is committed to advancing engineering education and applied research that supports sustainable development and practical energy solutions.
