
Simon Alex Atwiine
Simon Alex is the Assistant ICT Officer at Kabale University’s Directorate of ICT Services (DICTS), a position he has held since October 2023. He brings a wealth of experience to this role, having worked in various private sector IT positions for the past seven years. These roles included Webmaster, Sports Tutor, Data Clerk, ICT Consultant, Teaching Assistant, Systems Administrator, and Assistant Lecturer.
Simon Alex is highly qualified, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (BSc.CSC) from Makerere University and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science (MSc.CSC) with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science, which he earned during the 74th Makerere Graduation ceremony in 2024. In addition to his academic achievements, he is passionate about software programming, web application development, computer vision, machine learning, and big data mining. He possesses expertise in many trending programming languages.
As the Assistant ICT Officer, Simon Alex’s primary responsibility is to provide ICT support to both staff and students at Kabale University.
Beyond his academic and professional pursuits, Simon Alex is a committed community leader. He has founded several Interact Clubs in high schools and is the founder and CEO of Rendersoft Technologies, an IT firm focused on delivering value through quality processes and a people-centric approach. He is also involved with Western Got Talent (WGT), an organization dedicated to discovering and nurturing young Ugandan talent. WGT has successfully held events in several districts, including Sheema, Bushenyi, Kasese, and Fortportal. Additionally, Simon Alex is involved with the Sheema Corporate Football Tournament, which promotes unity, joint marketing, brand awareness, and healthy living within the community.
